This is a fabulous chain maille weave. It is the weave that was used in European armour in medieval times, and also used in Victorian times to make the most beautiful purses and small bags. This is a weave that you can make as wide as you like, from a gorgeous narrow bracelet to a stunning wide cuff. This workshop is taught in the context of a bracelet. This weave makes a fabulous supple and fluid fabric.

We will cover finishing techniques, including the addition of your chosen clasp, with emphasis on strength. Most people will complete their bracelet in class.

As clasps are very personal to the wearer, we include a simple sturdy bolt ring clasp with each of our workshops as our gift to you and always have a lovely selection of clasps available for purchase which cater for a variety of needs, preferences and tastes should you wish to personalise your creation.

This workshop includes enough materials to make a sterling silver chain maille bracelet up to 8.25 inches in length. Extra rings will be available for purchase.

Previous experience: Some mailling experience would be an advantage but not absolutely necessary.
